Government of Oman

MENTREG consultant Kevin Hindle was retained by the Omani Government to assist with the development of the National Academic Innovation Assistance Program (NAIAP)

The main objective of the program is to promote the culture of innovation competitiveness through piloting a series of entrepreneurial activities that form part of a systemic approach. Key elements include: an awareness campaign; enhancement of market‐oriented skills; research value chain analysis; a scheme to shift from a culture of “research for publication” to “research for innovation”. The NAIAP is an integral component of the Omani Government’s suite of initiatives to foster innovation and entrepreneurship as a means of diversifying the national economy and decreasing reliance on a single commodity.
