As both researcher and consultant, Professor Shahid Yamin (B. Tech. hons, Dip. Ed, MBA, PhD) focuses on the strategic management of innovation and its effects upon organizational performance. A strong focus is on incubation as a means to develop dynamic communities. He has over 30 years of diverse professional experience in industry, consulting, and academia in Australia, France, Finland, Turkey, UAE, Oman, Singapore, Hong Kong, Pakistan and India. He is associated with large public sector initiatives in innovation and entrepreneurship in relation throughout South Asia and the Middle East.
Shahid has held senior academic positions including, Assistant Dean Research and Graduate Studies, Chair of the Department of Business Administration; and Managing Director of Emirates Centre of Innovation and Entrepreneurship which he founded within the United Arab Emirates University with a grant of over one million dollar grant from the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA). He was also a Director of DBA Program and Deputy Director of MBA Program at the Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship, Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. He has published over 45 publications in high quality refereed journals and proceedings and has won several competitive research grants from national and international institutions. Shahid is currently on assignment as a Professor at Sultan Qaboos University and Consultant to the Ministry of Education in Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, in Muscat, Oman. Shahid is also an Adjunct Professor at both Southern Cross University and UG21 Global Graduate School delivering an on-line MBA program in association with some of the leading universities of the world.
Shahid is a renowned and respected mentor. He has successfully supervised numerous PhD, DBA, and Masters candidates who have, under his supervision, conducted original research in Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Strategy, and Social Capital. He brings the same sensitive guidance to all the consulting projects with which he is involved.
