Topyame Moremong-Nganunu

Dr. Topoyame Moremong-Nganunu (BA, MA, PhD) is a Botswanan national who has taught and consulted throughout Africa, the Middle East and the world in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship. As a lecturer and facilitator, Topyame has taught and facilitated a wide range of courses at different institutions. At the Institute of Development Management in Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland, she coordinated and taught Purchasing and Supply Chain Management courses, working in collaboration with Institute of Purchasing and Supply Manangement in the UK. She also worked for the University of Botswana’s Center for Continuing Education (CCE) as a lecturer. At CCE, she coordinated several short courses including the International Labor Organization’s Start and Improve Your Business Programme. In Australia, she taught entrepreneurship and business management courses at Swinburne University of Technology, Monash University, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and Central Queensland University the Melbourne Campus.

Currently on assignment with the Department of Management, at Sultan Qaboos University, she was recently a Visiting Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the United Arab Emirates. Her PhD was entitled: ‘Entrepreneurship education in developing countries: an evaluation of the Start and Improve Your Business Program in Botswana’.

Topyame has wide experience in working with small and medium scale entrepreneurs which she obtained from government and private organizations in Botswana and South Africa. She worked at the Botswana Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry as a Senior Business Advisor; at the office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Botswana. Topyame has over twenty years of experience in human resources development and productivity enhancement of small and medium-scale enterprises. She has organized and facilitated entrepreneurial workshops for women and youth. She worked in collaboration with organizations such as Women in Management in Sweden, the Commonwealth Youth Programme in the U.K, and the German Agency for Technical Corporation in Germany, as well as with the United Nations’ agencies, such as the International Labor Organization and the International Trade Center in Geneva. Before joining MENTREG, she was co-founder of Botswanan management consulting firm, Development Management Associates (DMA). She specialises in the areas of:
